A poem about moving into and out of anxiety.
Broken Grace

She lay between a periwinkle sky and
scythed green-grey grassland
comfortably counting pink cosmos, blue columbine and cornflower

She picked a flower
crushed it's pink petals in her hand
and contemplated her presence

Memories slurred her daydream
drizzling feelings and worry
rotted rifts in her weary soul

Anxiety played havoc with her heart
and sent lightning through her nerves
until she fell to the earth, sobbing

But like summer rain on a scorched rock
her sorrow eventually evaporated

In a mountain of broken grace
a Star lay between a perky sky and
growing grassland

A warm smile came over her suddenly
and she knew she was born
a Mystic
