Feb. 19 prompt - using jewelry terms to describe nature. |
Rising from the earth A tangled crown of variegated greens Jade dances in the light and shadow Tall tree trunks have a patina cast There is an age old strength here. Above the dense foliage A few trees seem to perform An arabesque Lifting and stretching up to the amber sun. Which shimmers off the leaves like Biwa and Blister pearls A waterfall runs through The vegetation Like the Brilliant cut of diamonds Water flows in a torrent The surface ripples with Aquamarine With Amethyst undertones. Boulders seemed cast within The swirling water As it surges forward At a tiny pool, Koi fish swim Their bodies bits of coral moving smoothly through the Filigree of underwater plants. A Festoon of bountiful flowers runs along the edge of the pond An air of tranquility Seems to radiate from this place. Come sit awhile And breathe in the freshness Let the worries of the world fall away Nothing can find you here If you stay still and quiet. Lines = 33. Prompt for: Feb 19 (Fyn/Ren) ▼ |
