Your origin is as mysterious as your breed
You arrived one day
Having seen my grandfather
And felt a connection
That drew you to our family
From the highway you wandered in
And my grandfather’s kindness
Let you know this was where you belonged.
My fear of dogs evaporated
The moment I laid eyes on you
You were not a monster
You were a soul of sweetest temperament
A friend whose love was everywhere
The energy of your love vibrated
Acceptance was in your gaze
You were always there
When I just needed a presence
That let me know all was fine
Everything was going to be okay
Your love enveloped
It was a soft place to land
To curl myself around your magnitude of hair
And when the time came for you to go
There was no fan fair
You just disappeared as quietly as you appeared
