Merry Christmas!
He had the biggest crush
on his witty neighbour
But he was just too shy
To speak of his ardor.

At the mall, rushing
For last-minute shopping
He saw her in a doorway
And -- his heart almost stopping

He realised she was standing
Under the mistletoe
"You can do it, young man
GO JUST GO."

Quickly he dashed across
Till he was at her side
But he didn't want to be cheesy
So, he did decide

Instead of planting a kiss
On her cute little face
He handled the situation
With manly grace.

"Look where you're standing,"
He pointed out.
"Someone will take advantage,
I have no doubt."

"Oh, dear boy," she said
"Kiss me, don't fear!
I waited on purpose
When I saw you here!"

He wanted to say something
But the words just stuck
Had he heard right?
He couldn't believe his luck.

They're going steady now
The girl and the chappie
And both of them are just
So very very happy!
