Something I wrote at the end of the summer
I miss you.
I miss sneaking you a text or two between classes.
Staying up too late talking you.
Going out with you on the weekends.
I miss your art,
That splash of color that you bring.
I miss that face you make when you know that I’m being sarcastic
And when you crinkle your nose when I make a bad movie reference.
I miss your voice.
Your quirkiness.
Your goofiness.
I miss your ability to laugh, live, and love.
But, it must be all for the best, right?
I know,
I know because you told me,
Told me what the doctors said before you went away,
That they’d be able to fix you well and good there.
That they’d be able to help you there.
That all you needed to do was leave your family,
Your friends, your school,
Your life,
Me;
Leave all that behind,
And they can fix you real good.
But, do you want to be fixed?
Because I’m perfectly happy with loving
A broken girl.
