Fall Roses

Fall roses do
not grow on
bushes, nor
burst from their
delicate buds in
crimson splendor;
rather slowly
blossom from
trees and
fall to the
ground, only to
be kicked and
stomped on by
passers-by in
overcoats and
scarves trying
to stave off
the suffocating chill
of Fall.
