Thanks to a Soldier

You risk your life everyday
In a land so very far away.
I don’t know your name
And maybe never will.
But every day, you are out there
Fighting for what is right.
Giving your all, your will is made of iron and steel.
You see your friends and comrades fall
And know the horrors of a war that you can’t forget.
Not many people appreciate the sacrifice you make
And thanks are oh so few.
There are those of us
Who will never forget everything you do.
I just wanted a chance to say
Before it’s too late,
Thank you for all you do
And all you give.
