A story about a soldier
Prologue

The sky was turning dark grey. Rashid Khan was returning from his work in the garage. He was covered in grease. His clothes were in tatters. No body would believe that he was a Major in Naga regiment two years ago.
He was about to cross the road when he saw a man was harassing a young girl. The girl was crying. Rashid didn't knew the name of the girl, but he knew that she lived in colony next to the slums where he was currently living.

He didn't wanted to engage in the conflict, but the army instincts within him didn't allow him to do so. He tried to convince the man to leave the girl and that the girl was his niece.

The man pulled out his knife instead. He immediately ran the knife. He had targeted his throat. Rashid managed to dodge it, but was left with a cut in his right chin. Two years of working as a mechanic surely rusted his skills. Rashid disarmed him by twisting his hand and then used the same knife on him. He had originally targeted his shoulder, but the man tried to dodge. But the man was stupid enough to move in opposite direction. The knife had pierced his right eye. Not only that, but it went much further inside, until he could feel that the tip of knife had hit something hard.
It was the skull. He pulled out the knife. Blood sprayed like water in a leaking supply pipe. The girl's white gown turned crimson like hibiscus. Rashid's face turned red with blood. He suddenly started laughing.

What a hearty laughter it was! As if it was a comedy show. He looked at the face of the person he just murdered. It was a obese man. He was middle aged and had started to get white hair. He didn't even have a scratch in his entire body, except the fact that there was only a hole covered with blood, where his right eye existed. The eyeball was stuck in the middle of the knife.
The girl let out a deafening scream. Sirens approaching was heard. Rashid knew this sound very well. It was the sound of Police Van. He gazed at the sky.
A bunch of Doves were returning home.
