David travels back through time to warn Earth of an evil alien invasion in 2038.
The year was 2048. The technology was untested, but they were counting on David to travel through time and deliver the warning to save Earth’s future. The Resistance Team had decided to send him ten years before the invasion to 2028 so citizens would have time to plan an escape or counter attack. They wouldn’t be caught completely by surprise, slaughtered and enslaved as they had been by the aliens in 2038.

“I have a question,” said David, sitting in the telepod.

“Yes?” said Ryan.

“How much of this stuff do I have to drink?”

“All of it,” commanded Mary.

David drank all six ounces of the clear moonshine and grimaced.

The noise from the telepod’s engines was deafening, making his head vibrate. The moonshine began to work and David relaxed as the faces of his team disappeared. He slipped into a deep sleep.

He woke up in a corn field with the sun barely shooting pink rays into the dark sky. A beam of light struck him in the face.

“Get up!” said the cop.

“What are you doing in my field?” asked the farmer. “We’re trying to harvest and damn near run you over with my combine. Good thing I had the headlights fixed last week or you’d been fertilizer, son.”

David’s head was throbbing and he knew he had to be taken to their authorities quickly. “Take me to the president of South Dakota,” he said, getting to his feet.

“President?” The cop lowered the flashlight. “Whew! How much corn liquor you been drinking?”

“Too much, I’ll bet,” said the farmer. “And we don’t have a president of South Dakota, just a governor.”

“What year is it?” asked David.

“2035,” said the cop, frowning.

2035? Only three years now to plan an escape or counter attack!
