Couldn't decide whether this belonged here or in The Fox Den.
Mirage

A spot out in the distance
An oasis in the past
Circling this desert
Getting nowhere fast
A dream spun in the ether
Weaved only just for me
Two lonely hearts together
Lost in this desert sea
Sometimes when the sun shines
Upon this cold malaise
When wind and sand grains fly, align
Mirages twist and raise
Raise into a deal,
a hand that looks so fine
I never know what's real,
… never know what's mine
Everytime winds shuffle round
All I see's your face
A blistering reminder
Channelling a place
A place where I knew someone
Solid to the touch
To ghosts long past, a medium,
for phantoms I could trust
Realities not realised
Doubts that held their sway
Dust Devils that haunt my dreams
Still spinning through the day
Obscuring mirages
For real in my mind
Thinking its real, this oasis
Yet water's hard to find
I just can't shake the feeling,
it's too hard to define
The sweetness can't be doubted,
but how could it be mine?
So thus the dance continues
As sand, it moves in waves
Images rich, swathed in light,
for warriors so brave
Brave enough to take the light,
to bathe in as their own
To worship images so bright,
and in the dark atone
For some sins, they are worthy
Some sins should be seen
For all the things that could be
… for all the things they've been
Some substance in the ether
As desert sands, they shift
If you're lost, get lost together
… or forever will you sift
