of love left unfinished.
It was just a normal day for her and she soaked herself in reminiscence as she tucked the tuft of hair that had fallen on her face, behind her ears and let the waves soak her transient toes that would wriggle its way through the gooey sand. The waves reminded her of him, he who had been a short presence in her life, giving her a joy that could never be replaced and that was not exactly a good reminder. Her aching bits would be torn a little crueler as each wave graced her flawed skin. Yet, she never missed her visits to the beach. She never missed the sunsets. Seated on the sandy cushion, she would let the dusk fill her with enough thoughts to keep her mind drifting until the next day had arrived. Everything about the ambiance kept her soul alive and that was why, in spite of the ache, she chose to come back to where they had decided to end, everyday.

Yes, the end. the drastic change that would leave her handicapped for life. The change that left her emotions distorted and deprived her of any right to feel joyous about romanticism and brighten up with the sight of a rose or any symbol of cupid that'd otherwise let her eyes gleam with showers of hope. Thea had no more hopes that she could embark on, or liveliness that she could lean against to power her insides into the higher level of optimism that she had for so long been blind towards.

He. The eyes that spoke a thousand words with a single glance, the brows that she'd let her soul melt over, the smile that had gripped her and let her sway to the tunes it promised to spell out, the frame that shouted nothing but exemplary confidence, and the aura that had her fall as soon as she had laid her eyes on him. She had always felt her own soul wasn't good enough for one like his', and that even if once, she was to land herself up within the hold of his palms, she would be in a position of extreme vulnerability, and in danger of having the love being taken away from forces that she feared and knew nothing of. It was either her overly powerful fear, or her fate that finally led to the end of all the beautiful eternities and infinities carved into their tiny life of red blossoms that had earlier given love and nothing less.

Thea was too broken now to think about him or anything that could possibly cling onto his scent, his existence. But sadly, her kind of broken was one that made her depend too much on the thing that she shouldn't be doing - thinking about him. Her heartbreak had for some reason started turning into a solace. Her source of tranquil, giving her a clarity of the thoughts that haunt her, was the imagery that she formed within her conscience about him. Why did Jaden have to turn into the beastly memory that resides within her and not remain as the human that dragged her into the very reason for existence? There might be a reason but she could never be sure of it unless she had initiated a talk with him. But, what were they now? Stretched even far apart than strangers are, their distance could never be bridged, and to let words reach him from her would be a task that will remain unattended to even after lives have passed. This made her wonder what exactly could have worsened the situation for them. Things were fine, in fact, more than fine and close to perfection until, of course, our void had become deep and sadly, our mutual decision to fall apart was arrived at without much thought needed. It still remains a mystery to me how we had mutually agreed to end the happiness that we shared, though we had no reason and no reduced love between us. Their minds spoke unanimously every night, but at different parts of the same globe, separated by distances that made sure they never met.

Thea still remembers that day. They held hands like they always did. Through their talk, their warmth grew no less, but their words started to break uncontrollably. There was something wrong and they did not know what it was. Staying away was probably right they felt- their mutual decision. Maybe a week, a month? And then we'll be back to where we stopped at and we'd romance away into our eternities that were planned and script our own destinies of love. We'd not get drunk on the ridges and bumps that had our paths crumbled to bits, but we would sip our drink from glass bottles of remarkable joy as we enjoy the sunset as we always do.

Months had passed into years and still there was not a trace of one another embarking on the journeys that they had planned so much about. Not one courageous sign towards love was shown by either. And that was when their bridges had fallen apart brutally.

I hope for word to flow between us, for that is all that I can invest in. I pray to let our hearts merge again, for that is all that can cure my mortality. We stood away for too long, I guess and it's time to pave the way for our billion little pledges.
