What God has kissed, still it lingers, upon each petal and blade... |
GARDEN OF PRAYER SO SWEET What God has kissed, still it lingers, upon each petal and blade, and I feel close to Him here. Dawn filtered in mist, with gossamer fingers, annoints the fragrant shade, caressing what I hold dear. Bleeding Hearts and Jasmine, Lilly of the Valley and Thyme, Bluebells and Moon Flower, Lilac and dainty Columbine I welcome Him to enter in, and worship in joy sublime. How lovely is the early hour When I am His and He is mine. The Morning Glory so tranquil, lifting heads in upward gaze. The Forget Me Not billows, blooming at the Savior's feet. Like a botanical hymnal, the Earth sings His praise. where His beauty overflows in a garden of prayer so sweet. author's notes: Love and life began in a garden. God formed man from the mud in the garden of Eden, among the lush and lovely flowers, plants, and trees. God came daily in the cool of the morning to visit Adam and Eve and commune with them. Jesus loved gardens, he prayed his passionate prayer to the Father in Gethsemane during his final hours before his crucifixion. Gardens join us with the Almighty, as well as our deepest self. Genesis 3:8- "Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day.." Our Lord is a garden, He is ever-blooming, full of glory and beauty. Gardens are such a lovely place to commune with the LORD. |
