Every rose has a thorn and I am no exception. Mostly my thorns start from the inside out. They steadily prick the petals of my soul until I have no choice but to expose them. And the way that I do that is through poetry. My goal, my purpose is to preserve the rose even though that may mean for some thorns to remain. But for the preservation of the rose (self) I let those few thorns remain intact. For without them, a rose, MY rose, is just a rose....
This was the intro to my portfolio about 12 years ago when I wrote under the pen name, Rose Petals. In this folder will be a collection of poetry I used to display on this site. They may be revised, they may the original versions. The poems range from love to spiritual. I have poems dedicated to both of my parents who have passed on. Some are whimsical, some are emotional but all of them used to have a home here. I am resurrecting them because I think they need a home again. Yes, I will be adding some when the dreaded writer's block is in full swing. Hope you enjoy!
