Utility man Jose Reyes has been actively working hard to help out the Mets, who have suffered key losses at several positions in 2016. With Captain David Wright out for most of 2016, Jose has played third base after he was re-signed from the Colorado Rockies. The Mets knew his situtation, and gave the 33 year old another opportunity to play for them. Reyes was very apologetic speaking about his domestic abuse incident involving his wife, and once a Met again, the fans welcomed him back with open arms. Clearly a fan favorite in 2006, Reyes is now a veteran player who might see some time in the outfield, as the Mets are trying to shop Jay Bruce. Jose could expect playing time at Second Base and at Shortstop as well. Batting leadoff for New York last season, Reyes hit eight home runs with 24 batted in, and stealing nine bases in just 60 games played.
