Snowflakes race towards the fire.
In chilly air, we perspire.
In this place that we made,
We’ve laughed and we’ve played,
Nestled by the warming fire’s glow.
In the dark, teeth might chatter
But here in warmth, that doesn’t matter,
‘Cause we’re here with our friends,
With all the love that we sense,
Nestled by the warming fire’s glow.
In the morning we will have to go home.
And we’ll have to get on with our day.
But until that time,
We’re in the gloam.
And not until morn’ shall we stray.
In the warmth of the embers
We talk of old Decembers
From days of our past
We want to make last
Nestled by the warming fire’s glow.
For those unfamiliar with the tune, here's a video with the original lyrics.
