?.short poem.?
The sun and the moon have abruptly altered course,
much too soon is the appearance of both...
No more time available to sway the masses
the ticks have all been used,
and the tocks have run they're course...

Once again reduced to only words
Once again they belong to neither rhyme nor reason
For what once was up has come crashing down
no words to describe this self-sabotage, this blatant mental treason...

If I only knew where I stood
If only I'd Ever finished the map
Perhaps the 'ex' I see would for once be meaningful
and no longer careless lines, hastily drawn in fictitious sand.

Are you able to count the grains?
And never again take a wild guess?
I told you that you'd get there first,
Another casualty of your love affair with being first best.

What is it really like on the podium?
Can you describe the view from your, 'oh so high perspective?'
I've heard the term "ants" used before
I know you've thought of better words, just lack the time and drive to perfect them.

Well guess what my dear, and no,
not even so much as the slightest hint...
for every thousand things you claim to know
There's a thousand more things you'll soon forget...

Maybe I'll join those that have no names
forgotten glimpses of a movie played way too fast...
blah, blah, blah, said he
who's name was James...
Meanwhile, back in reality
none of these pretty words ever seem to last...
