A Tormented Soul
Looking through the branches of
the old mango tree,
The sun has set, just enough light to see
the branches are blackened against the fading light
the scene is so surreal, its close to home
as I too can feel myself fading with that light
I close my eyes, the silence is deafening
listening to my heart beating deep inside me
I sigh and take a breath...
wish the night would wrap its arms tight around me
like a blanket, swallow me up into nothing but black silence

the cost of living in limbo is taking its toll
for I can feel it in my soul
Brocken spirit laying on the ground
twisting and turning to no abound
nothing will ease this pain
perhaps its fate to be this way
a tormented body walking this earth
pre-destined to live with such sorrow
to never be able to change this fate

I get on my knees and bow to the ground
I surrender this fight..... this war
I've been fighting for too long

Black night, my blanket
Wrap your arms around me
Take me into nothing
I surrender...
I give myself to you...
