some things happened and this is the result
i've been so many places tonight
but this is real, this is familiar,
this blue light covering all of me and mine.
i've never heard before such symphonies,
seen the pale green glow from the rock.
the stories told over the ages have been handed down
from generation to generation.
this sun, our sun, it brings us light
and glory.
we human beings worship:
"this is our God," they cried.
"Adonai will reign forever and ever!"
my feet are floating away;
i am floating on the breeze
i do believe in God and i apologize to God for myself;
i am so much to deal with. my hands are not
my own. this is the ending of a movie and the beginning of the sequel.

i love you.
i love you.
i love you. i'll see you in a year. my lips are chapped and my teeth are fuzzy
but i have thought of you all night. i sink into the bed, into the earth.
what strange creatures we are! we have holy books and holy words!
sites of worship! what a strange people!
a sandstorm.
it's almost 7 in the morning.
dear God, I must sleep.
i love you.
goodnight.

and now this is true.
the song is slowing down and so many things
are quiet now and i know that i love you.
i am glad to be born on this day to you.

oh! how this is! these fallings!
the face of God as God turns away.
do not despair, my friends,
the green and holy light is around us.
it sees us. it's in us.
i sigh and rivers flow, my dear.
your face echoes down the centuries.
do not let me go.

they sleep beside. their journey has been long
this morning but we're nearing the end. i feel it in my lips.
oh how they shall sail one day.

the green is becoming.
the green is evermore.
oh water my water!
why have you forsaken me?
my heart floats in its bed.
i sigh and mountains form.
listen to my words, my dear.
the mist is your home.
