This is a poem that I wrote after the decision from the long court hearing, JFT96 (Poem5)
Never Forgotten

Justice at last for those left in the past
no more should the flags fly at half mast.
for football could never be at it's best
we will remember them, long may it last.

It was a sunny April day many years ago
as Liverpool and Forest met at Hillsborough
a path to Wembley the teams did face
but little did they know of their deathly race.

A race for those who did well to survive
a race for those who survived to revive
revive for they tried , tried and tried
for those who died that day, we cried.

Ninety six lives were lost that day
ninety minutes which should have been heavenly.
for this game that we love and hate
should not be remembered for open gates.

Unlawfully killed was the decision
at last justice with some reason.
the souls of the dead now finding freedom
freedom which means, fresh start next season.

Now the souls are engraved in stone
every known name and age are shown.
now we have reached this end milestone
let's just remember, they will never walk alone.
