Drops of Essence
Essence drips from my soul, as if I'm dead.
Years of emotions, yearn to run and flee,
but they're caught in the rain, black as the sea.
Staggering puddles at my feet, blood red,
negativity craving to be fed.
I long for these demons to let me be,
their sadistic torture is killing me.
Locked nor barred from my soul, heart and head.
Grave, desolate moans ascend from within.
Destruction rains down from another sky,
merciless, it inflicts its toxic sin.
All seems lost, 'till I hear the battle cry.
Embroiled in a fight, which I have to win,
to emerge brand new like a butterfly.
