For a few years now my teenage sons have introduced me to new music. They'd come over to my computer with "Watch this, Mom" or "Can I show you something?" Then I'd be introduced to some piece of music I'd never known existed. Some of it is baffling, like watching a Minecraft parody of Taio Cruz' song Dynamite. Some of it (Flogging Molly springs to mind) ranked as "Turn it off!" Quite a bit, though, is likable. I discovered Electro-Swing could drive any other song out of my head, even Uptown Funk. The first time I heard Nightcore, I thought it sounded like Alvin and the Chipmunks. Still, Fallout Boy, Imagine Dragons, and Daft Punk took up residence on my playlist.
My older son introduced me to Cups awhile back, and I thought I'd share it today. The song is performed by Anna Kendrick. She's an actress, so this is a one-off song. But it's appealing and the video is clever. Enjoy.
