Some members of our society today are redefining corruption and making it appear normal.
CORRUPTION

I now have every reason to believe that there are people out there who are illegally and informally redefining the word corruption without the slightest effort to follow the rules of lexicography. I will call these people politicians. They are good at it. Above all they are good at blaming others, those whom they fondly refer to as ‘political enemies’. They make ‘good’ use of the moments that they hold dearly in public offices. They use their tenure to pinpoint the weaknesses of their predecessors while in actual fact they do the same if not worse. They siphon the proceeds of the taxpayers sweat shamelessly.
According to them, corruption exists and it is done in broad daylight. But the most unfortunate thing is that all of them are guilty of the vice and as such, they cunningly blow the whistle while at the same time trying to cover the culprits indirectly. Others blow the whistle in a desperate attempt to cover their own faults. This is a disease that affects very many leaders the world over. The panacea has always appeared to be reshuffles and the failure to re-elect the suspects. But so far we have not seen much change. The laws of the land are okay but they take long enough to give the thieves ample time to invest and make profits from the root. I believe the only remedy is making sure that the overall heads of all public dockets are made to take sole responsibility of any errors and losses. The penalties for offenders should be as strict as the ones laid out for rape, murder or robbery with violence. That way they will be very keen.
