This poem is a dark sonnet, inspired by a song of the same name by Silver Mt. Zion. |
Mountain Made of Steam It's that day again, That sweet Valentine's Day with the three words people say To the people they love. How long is it now, How long since you've been gone, gone after everything went wrong? Why? Why must this messy heart Made from thunder keep waking the dead from their slumber? You asked for a coat, it was cold, Cold before it was warm, the calm before an inevitable storm. I tremble from an orchestral ensemble Of lightning, this loneliness is so very frightening. My soul shivers, Shivers and quakes from the aftermath and bloodbath of the hurricane's wake. For you, for me, for us, this was a stormy ending. So why, why is this broken, long since forsaken sonnet still singing? |
