My spoof/spin-off of that venerable Christmas carol, Winter Wonderland.
Trembling On A Major Highway ( a spoof of Winter Wonderland)
Air brakes squeal, am I flinching?
Horns blast, blare, my sphincter's cinching.
         I'm a tiny Smart car
         waging a vehicle war.
         Trembling on a major highway.
         Monster trucks they surround me
         belching, rumbling, each a bully.
Their jet stream jostles me along.
I can but steer they're much too strong.
         Trembling on a major highway.
On the tarmac I see some rubber,
I must avoid, try not to blubber.
         I can't afford to blow a tire,
or be stuck in the line of fire.
         Trembling on a major highway.
The cost of fuel is atrocious,
can't pay to drive a car more ferocious.
My little tin shell gets buffeted 'round
as we skim along an inch from the ground.
         Trembling on a major highway.
         White-knuckled drive, I'm exhausted.
Nerves stretched thin; my patience?, lost it.
         I really dread my commutes
         next to the behemoth brutes.
Trembling on a major highway. (25 lines)
