When experiments go wrong in a small town. One man just happened to be rescued.
Ch.1 The Beginning

The day started out as any day would in an office building. For me, it wasn't my favorite job in the world. Speaking that I am a male receptionist, doesn't make it better. I need money so it will have to do. I had just finished answering a call for my boss who was "busy". When I get a notification on my phone. When I pulled down the tab I noticed it was from my news app. It was saying some disease had broken out throughout the whole town. It said some lab experiments at the local laboratory went wrong and went unstable. The quoted scientist said that what is now on the loose was not just a disease, but infection and death came along with it. I stared at the article with horror of what I just read. That laboratory is couple of blocks down the street. I kept reading the article and read that Special Forces have and will continue to be deployed in the immediate area. I look around seeing calm faces as if they have no idea what is going on right now. Then it started. There was a loud noise and screaming coming from the floor directly below me. Then there was noises coming from the elevator. Next thing that happens isn't a pretty sight. These... things came sprinting out of the elevator killing the two poor interns in there path. From the look of it, there may have started out as two, but they kept biting everyone they killed. It brought them back to life, but as one of them. I did what any sane person would do. Hide and pray they don't find me. I decided to hide under my desk. As I laid there, I kept hearing screams of agony and pain. Then the sound of those monsters. More and more of them. One of them jumped onto my desk and was searching around for more people. I stayed as quite as possible. Not even breathing. That's when I heard the elevator again. I thought more of them were coming to find me and turn me into one of them, but instead I started to hear gun fire. The noise of those monsters dying and charging yells coming from multiple people. Male and female. Then all went silent. I feared the worst. A million thoughts and scenarios running through my head as if one of them was right. I slowly raised up from my shelter and with wide eyes and a sigh of relief. The Special Forces killed them, all of them. Sadly only in this building. A man came to me to help me up. I assumed he was the leader of this squad. He said his name was Derrek. He said introductions could wait till later and we need to get out of this area as soon as possible. He threw me a couple of pistols and said to not miss a shot or you're dead. With that in mind I tried to recall some of my skeet shooting skills back from when I won state championship. We walked into the elevator and headed downward. They had already cleared the other floor of what was left. When we hit the bottom the door opened and I think I turned completely white. 4 or five of those things were waiting for us. The squad bursted into action as I was recovering from paleness. The squad was all out killing them when I stared to step outside the elevator. I had just stepped off when one of the monsters dropped down from the ceiling. It had knocked me over and was now towering above me. It started its head down to bite me, as I was bringing the guns up from my sides. I fired and it laid on top of me. I thought for sure I had missed and it was biting the crap out of my neck. I stopped squirming and realized that I had killed it because it had fallen limp. Derrek pulled me to my feet and congratulated me on my first kill. I couldn't do anything but smirk. We headed out of the building and a helicopter was waiting for us. We stepped inside and it took off. Not a word was said. The trip wasn't too long, maybe 15 to 20 minutes max. Then we arrived at the "Home Base" as Derrek called it. It wasn't that big until the ground opened up and exposed all the underneath tunnel work. The helicopter landed and I was seated on a few loading crates. Derrek came up to me and said now might be a good time for introductions. He then smiled and escorted my to the team that saved my life. He first pointed out Frank, the man with the big gun as he explained. Frank had a Gatling gun by his feet. Next was Georgia, she is the teams tech person and weapons expert. Her weapon of choice was a sniper. The next two were The Ramiro twins, Zack and Jack. One of them had dual Uzis while the other one had a tommy gun. The whole team was wearing masks except for Derrek, who had dirty blonde hair and blues eyes. A man came up to Derrek saying the captain would want to speak with me. Being a survivor and all. I didn't anticipate what he was going to say when I got there
