Bullying is a worldwide obstacle and this poem I wrote in hopes that it might change that.
We’ve all felt it before
We try our hardest to get accepted
But are met by locked doors
You try and join in other’s games
But they turn around and say you’re weird and lame

It’s not right to hide who you are
You might shine like a star
Hiding in the dark corner heads down
Praying that it’ll all be over and safe and sound

A teen’s friend in higher grade than self
One that’s not seen much as well
The odd feeling they know you and acceptance you more
Than the friends you have back in your class
Who keep you ignored

In the shadows of others
Hearing their words as vultures
Slowly pecking at the hope you hold
And getting it unrolled and cold

What is once was is now gone
The requirements have been raised up
Why can’t we just be accepted
And not worry about some petty transgression

Sometimes it seems that people only accept those that are like themself
Not those that might be imperfect of in another genre cell

Wishing upon the brightest star
That somebody knew who you really are
To be part of a group to call home
And not stuck in the loner zone

Acceptance is calling out
Calling out to the point of reaching the sun
Tapping on somebody’s back to no response

This isn’t what the world is meant to be
Just accept me please
