Paper hallways with thin foundations echo loudly.
Talking through the walls
Taking back things that are said
And I won’t say a word

Faint voices
High pitched
Low pitched
Talking about me
What I’m worth
Like they know me

Are they worried
They should be

I can’t admit it
I don’t talk
You talk for me
You make the calls

I’ll be nothing left
But your creation

I can hear you through the walls

Silence
They can hear me
My computer buzzing
It drowns their voices

Lingering darkness in my fingers
I type in distress

Is this all we’ll ever be?
A failed social experiment in captivity
A habitat that clips your wings
No expression
No depression
Just perfection

No
I can’t do it
Even though it seems so great
To be strong
To be tough
To be king

I’m at the level of a peasant
Wandering lonely streets
Thirsty for blood
Thirsty for meat

It’s me
I’m the disease
The darkness, it’s just me

Shivering in an office chair
Do I dare make a sound
Or am I frozen, bare

What I must ask myself
In this tragic hour
Am I afraid of everyone?

Pure insanity
No
It’s the other way around

Everyone’s afraid of me
