Concerning gray Saturday and credit Sunday.

Saturday: (Layaway)

Black Friday leads to one day that is gray;
on Saturday ‘tis good to just lay low.
Relax and give your thanks for layaway.

The ads on Thursday morning had their say;
computers, videos and GI Joe.
Black Friday leads to one day that is gray.

Delicious turkey was more than okay;
those heaps of fixings made the waistline grow.
Relax and give your thanks for layaway.

The stores in competition all do play;
they love it when the cash from shoppers flow.
Black Friday leads to one day that is gray.

I even heard of shopping on eBay;
the warehouse bins are lettered row by row.
Relax and give your thanks for layaway.

November does diminish light of day;
when night arrives, the rest is apropos.
Black Friday leads to one day that is gray;
relax and give your thanks for layaway.

Sunday: (The Self)

This time of year can make one’s face turn blue;
the family and shopping are a chore.
Come Sunday, then, give credit where it’s due.

It happens once again direct on cue;
November’s holiday drains more and more.
This time of year can make one’s face turn blue.

Wherein the shopping ravages accrue;
then by the weekend, arms and legs are sore.
Come Sunday, then, give credit where it’s due.

I felt the time when oxygen withdrew;
the throng did wait in line at Best Buy’s door.
This time of year can make one’s face turn blue.

Inhale a breath of air to feel anew!
Allow the new in you a fresh encore.
Come Sunday, then, give credit where it’s due.

One’s head spins ‘round the holidays, ‘tis true;
esteem yourself on ego‘s rocky shore.
This time of year can make one’s face turn blue;
come Sunday, then, give credit where it’s due.
