Princess DiOna

     The fairy princess screamed so loud it was hard to believe she was only eight-years-old. Princess DiOna was hidden in a secret room under the stairs in her castle.

     “You need to be quite Princess.” The voice of her Guardian, Heavon, stopped her screaming. It was coming from a small box up in the corner. “If you don’t they will find you. They have already gotten into the castle. And they are headed this way.”

     “Then there is no choice. I have to leave before they find me.” The Princess got up. “What’s the fastest, safest, way out of here?”

     “I don’t know Princess. The fastest way would probably be the tunnel under the castle. But you can’t use that. They know about it. And there is a dragon watching it. There are several of them. They have the castle surrounded.” Heavon was starting to panic. Princess DiOna could hear it in his voice.

     The Princess thought about that for a minute. “I have it. My pet unicorn. It’s the fastest friend I have. Even if they attack she can protect me. She’s magical.”

     Princess DiOna left that room. And very carefully went up to her Sleeping Chamber. On the counter was a bunch of stuffed animals. She found what she was looking for. “Celinna, I need you.” Princess DiOna put the animal on the floor. Suddenly it grew to life size. The Princess got on it. And they flew out the open window.

     From above as she was flying away Princess DiOna could see the young ones had invaded the castle. The older ones who surrounded it could attack her with fire. But she was too far away. “I’ll be back. This isn’t over yet.”
