A package comes which I have no memory of ordering.

I was trying so hard to remember one morn,
of the order I made from the site, Capricorn.
At my doorstep this Capricorn box did appear;
since I could not recall it, I uttered, "Oh dear."

(Oh my memory used to be snappy and keen,
  like the honed under-skull of an acne-prone teen.
  But forgetting now bows like some ham-acting guy;
  it‘s like entering rooms and then wondering why.)

So I picked up the box from my porch with a rush
and I stood in the living room’s relative hush.
No computer nor TV nor radio blare--
yet the wind on the window announced he was there.

Then I knifed the clear tape at the edge of the flap
all the while in wonder--a dumbfounded chap.
I should not indict myself--I am who I am;
still I could not help thinking I could use more RAM.*

(The grand jury sat calmly so smug and secure;
  I was guilty of lost memory to be sure.
  Yet the judge overruled and with gavel in grip,
  said there was no conviction for memory slip.)

And the court was adjourned with the box on the rug;
(perhaps lost memories are the reason we shrug.)
Then the sound that you love when incising the tape
overrode the clear fact that some things do escape.

(Where stems all the forget as we proceed with age?
  Shall we be like Bob Seger² and just turn the page?
  Shopping online convenience is chic for the day--
  but beware when a box of surprise comes your way.)

As I peeled back the flaps of the Capricorn box,
I remembered--and recollect knocked off my socks.
Flower seeds by the score tripped yours truly recall;
I leaned back on the throw rug, my head in the hall.

Lying flat, I began to laugh, holding my side;
that amnesia I had now had nowhere to hide.
It was clear now when, online, I ordered said seeds
for my yard-work endeavors, my gardening needs.

I sat up, I inhaled and I gained my repose;
stretching out, I then nudged the seed box with my toes.
These were seeds of Forget-me-nots, plain as could be;
and I happened to see this was real irony.
