-From The World Today- by Keaton Foster Down upon The street Blood And meat A wounded Being About to cease I didn’t see it The accident Stumbling here The aftermath Oh’ the hell Her body Broken And then some Her head Well-seasoned Split open Like a melon She Unconsciously Conscious Is looking up At God’s Bluest sky Motionless Seamless And somewhat Meaningless Let us assume What could it hurt That she Is considering What Will be next And if she Is going home Maybe She knows it Damn near certain And so do I All that being said Poetically expressed Upon her chest I dare beat Futile A voice in the back Of my mind says Infinitely Again and again Please let her go From this world today It is her time A rite of passage Fate Is not mistaken How could it Ever be If she Somehow Was to live If she In some way Was to be saved Survive Her life That which remained Would be hell Her injuries Grotesque Her mind Damaged A quality of life There would be none She would suffer She would be miserable She’d beg to be dead Put down Killed on the spot That’s no ways to live From the world today She is going to leave Head on out Live Her final ounce Breathe Her final breath Sure It’s going to be sad It always is She’ll leave many behind Those who love her And those who know her Will cry many good tears Upon her behalf As well as their own None will say That she got What it is She deserved Who’d dare From the world today God above Will take her home He Will make her his own A mortally damaged Blessing defined Down upon The street Blood And meat There is A wounded being About to cease I didn’t see it The accident I stumbled upon The aftermath Miserable am I For trying to save her Infinitely more Am I upset That I don’t know her From the world today… From The World Today Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2015. |
