A poetic version of my day... with so many words that are forbidden. |
September 15 Prompt ▼ A Day In My Life A Droning Beckons Dragging me from slumber, Bleary eyed I stagger To the bathroom Forcing myself to revive; To face this day. I stare into my face And chuckle At the lines That indent my cheek. Now coffee is needed It propels me to the kitchen; Getting my jolt of caffeine To goose my system. Dressed in baggy sweats I venture to my laptop And pry the lid open. I slip into my fictional world And it bubbles up to greet me. And I capture it, Getting it down, And saving it. I will not be at fault If the system goes down; Files will not be lost To cyber space. When I need sustenance I stop And amble into the kitchen When the clock chimes four I force myself To comply with tradition And prepare a meal My stubborn husband insists upon. Evening stretches out Long and uneventful. Soon darkness falls And with it, my eyes dim I drag myself up To waiting covers. Blankets envelop me And before long darkness takes me Into a world of dreams. Until tomorrow, my friends. 46 lines |
