Magic…
Morgan’s classmates watched in breathless silence as she opened her hand palm up, concentrating hard. There was an almost imperceivable trembling from such mental straining. Suddenly faint colors appeared, glorious rainbow mists just above soft rosy flesh. They spun around one another, a glow pulsing, growing with each turn. Surging brightness quickly spread outward casting multiple shades and hues across every surface. The small swirling mass reflected off eyes full of awe and wonder. No heat radiated from it, there wasn't any sensation to be had at all.
She forced greater will into her creation, the mists thickening, becoming almost solid in appearance. Color dimmed, slowly fading away into oblivion. Then, with nothing more than a barely audible pop that seemed more perception than sound, it winked out of existence. Morgan’s assigned homework had come to an end.
