What you don't see
The road to the farm we travel each day
So familiar to us in every way
The white rail fence that borders the green
In the dark of night cannot be seen

The house at the curve stands hidden at night
Unlighted now by our narrow headlight
On cruise control through the dark we dart
In a limited world surreal and apart

Remembrance will tell us our turn is near
We won't see the sign though we know it's there
At the end of the road we park the car
Then skyward look to the brightest star

When we think of life in the light of day
We note what the night can hide away
