A special poem about making a choice even if the why is not as clear as it should be. |
-There Is Beauty In A Failure- by Keaton Foster What did I miss She says to herself How can this be She whispers with ease Upon an edge she stands Razor thin is the divide Between life and death To herself And no one else She wonders if she is Somehow lesser a being The answer she seeks May never come She may never know Why she has come here To such a perilous place In such a hapless state There is beauty in a failure And she above all else Is oblivious to it When she’s gone After she leaps Others will come Asking their own why How could this be She had it all Everything that A person could wish How could she step From this very edge They will wonder And unlike her An answer they will have They will understand And if they don’t They’ll just make something up What they can live with A method to help them deal There is beauty in a failure They’ll see her death As a poetic escape A slip into an abyss A place where pain No longer holds any prominence A place where all that hurts Is replaced with nothing at all Freedom from every idea Escapism from every single fear There is beauty in a failure She didn’t know it She could understand it She brought herself to the edge She contemplated her fate And propositioned her faith She twisted the hand of God By asking for a measure of grace As she stepped to her death She wanted nothing of what remains In her mind She didn’t let herself down In her heart She didn’t see it as a mistake She saw it only as a choice One that she needed to make And all else must find a way To come to deal with… There Is Beauty In A Failure Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2015. |
