Blank
The lines are mocking me
my pen sits at ready
the sharp tip pressed against
white paper.

It's blank

Words swirling in my mind
none stringing together.
My temples pulsating.

It's still blank

The pen wants to spill its ink
and stain the pristine pages
my hand remains unmoving
like the words that usually flow so freely.

I lay the pen against the paper
its defeated
the blank page prevails
