The Mets are playing it safe when it comes to the health of outfielder Michael Cuddyer.
Cuddyer was given the night off to rest his sore left knee. He was given a day's rest on Tuesday after getting the job done with the bat, with two base hits on Monday.
Michael was penciled in the Mets' lineup on Sunday after missing four consecutive starts. He also put an end to his 0- for-16 streak on Monday. He was hitting a mere .133 in a course of 19 games. The Mets need him and the entire lineup to contribute offensively, and Cuddyer has some relief after delivering those two base hits.
