A free verse poem which tells about a survival of people in a very heavy winter season.
Cool Winter Season
By Joshua A. Apolonio

Cold winter nights, as they say,
A warm fire is needed every now and then.
The season makes the people chill,
Cold winds breeze, not hot, but cold.
Yes, winter makes water ice!
Snow storms, hail comes down from the sky.
Freezing by the power of ice and snow,
Ice winds... Blow! Blow!
Never stops, it freezes all the living.
From the North Pole with glaciers,
Frost, not fire, but ice it gives.
Cool, cold, chills all the living.
Reason of all these broken branches,
Is this winter season, heavy is it.
How I wish I could bring back summer.
With full eager, stop this winter.
Hating, abhorring, loathing this season.
At first sight, a flake would inspire me
But now, a million flakes will build death.
Wishing on a blurry star up above the sky,
Bring back summer, don't let the frost bite
And let the sun shine down and melt away our fears.
