MOTHER K The words kept ringing in her head "She's never gonna find out, Denny, we'll both be long gone before she arrives". It was Elsie's voice Elsie was her best friend of almost 20 years. Anita had decided to pay Denny a visit It was just weeks before their 5th anniversary "Denny is gonna ask me to marry him soon", she thought. "All these years of being with just one man is finally going to pay off". She was happy. Knocking quietly on the door of his apartment, Annie was surprised to find the door unlocked She noticed that the foot mat looked like there had been a scuffle at the door "Denny?" She called quietly She kept on walking when she heard the familiar voice "She's never gonna find out, Denny, we'll both be long gone before she arrives". Elsie! It was Elsie's voice What was Elsie doing in Denny's apartment? Annie was angry, she knew about Elsie's track record as an home wrecker No! No!! No!!! She groaned inwardly "Elly is not gonna take him away from me this time!" She hurried into Denny's living room She was overwhelmed with shock at the sight before her eyes Denny was bleeding profusely Elly was clutching a kitchen knife in her blood-stained hands Elly was also almost naked Denny was also wearing just his briefs Annie was confused "What the hell happened here?", she asked loudly "Annie!!!", Elsie called shockingly "Annie...", Denny called weakly Annie was torn to her Denny sound so weak Her initial joy had turned into pain "Annie, he tried to rape me", Elly said with shame in her voice "Annie, honey, you know that's a lie, Elly tried to seduce me", Denny retorted "What?! Elly, how could you?" Annie asked with tears in her eyes "Annie, I won't lie to you, you're my best friend in the whole wide world", Elly said Annie was sad. She looked up at Elly, then down at Denny With the speed of light, she threw herself against Elly, knocking her down in the process She grabbed the bloody knife from Elly and quickly pointed it at Denny's chest "Did you try to rape her, Denny, Yes or No?", she asked threateningly "Annie, c'mon, you know me..." "Yes or No, Denny", she cut him off waving the knife menacingly in his face "No", he answered her as he averted his gaze She smiled at him. "I love you, Denny" she whispered with indifference as she stabbed his abdomen "Goodbye". She twisted the already embedded knife in his gut. "No!" Elly screamed. Annie had forgotten that Elsie was still there. She swung her gaze at Elly "Oh, shut up", she said with a coldness in her eyes "He wouldn't have tried to rape you if you hadn't come over to pay him a visit" "Annie... It wasn't my fault that he did what he did", Elsie replied "No, it wasn't your fault, it's the home wrecker in you that's responsible for your actions", she retorted as she rose up from Denny's still body "Annie, Annie, Annie, please don't do...", Elsie's words were interrupted by the knife that had just hit her chest. "Goodbye home wrecker, this would be the last time you ever wreck anyone's relationship again". Ellie slumped. Annie stepped out of Denny's apartment with joy in her heart. She had gotten rid of those two liars for good. Her forlorn shadow trailed silently behind her. Mother Karma smiled. |
