One of my goals for 2015 is to try to write in as many poetry forms as I can.
2014 was the year that I really started getting into poetry. I'd written poetry before but it was rubbish: it didn't follow any rules and it was nearly always painful to read. But when I broke my foot in August, I found myself having a lot of time on my hands. So, I took up a few poetry challenges on WDC and ended up writing about 50 poems before I got my cast taken off. People actually liked a lot of them, too!

I've learnt a lot about poems and poetry over the last six months. Therefore, even if I do nothing else in 2015, I've vowed that I will continue my poetical journey. I have a lot to learn and explore still, and I want to do just that this year.

As such, below is a list of poetry forms (traditional and invented) taken from Shadow Poetry  Open in new Window.. One of my goals for 2015 is to try to write in as many of these forms as I can. I am not going to put pressure on myself by saying I will attempt them all. There is a lot of them, some will be hard and I've yet to look at what all of them are. I've already tried quite a few, but I am starting afresh for this year.

I'm posting this list here for two reasons: 1) As a reference point for me to update as I go a long, and 2) in case anyone wishes to join me on this journey - if you fancy it please let me know. It might be fun to do it with others!
