A little thing based off of an idea I had, kind of short, feedback please. |
[Introduction] I Don't think that this story is about some special or relevant character. Don't expect a happy ending. Don't expect anything that would make this a good story, because this story wasn't written to make you happy, it was written for those of you who can understand the stress, the pain, or the freight that this story is. It's simple, there's the town, the Spike, the people, and the land. And don't think that we're trapped here, we're perfectly allowed to leave. It's just that the land beyond the wall is inhabitable, filled with vile creatures, ones that you'd never wish to even catch a glimpse of. The Spike is the only way. The unimune get sick and the rest of us keep going, trying to win, trying to get out. It's not just our only option, staying in the town, it's our way of life. It's how things work, it's how things go here, as it should. Or should it? I awake to a soft buzzing in my ear, seven o'clock sharp. "Anilee, breakfast!" I blink real quickly, to give the BIs a chance to get me woken up a little better, and stumble down to my mother and father. As I collapse into my seat, I notice that my father is clutching onto a little piece of paper. "What's that letter, father?" I ask. "You are aware that the Board has been watching us for not having a little boy, correct?" he asks and I nod slowly, not fully understanding. "They'll be watching us extra hard today, so be careful. Especially in the Spike, you know you don't want a unimune chip." "Yes father." "Remember Anilee, we don't know what could happen, we could be thrown outside of the wall, mad an unimune, who knows. This is important to us, behave well." I nod again and finish my last bit of meat and fruit, completing my only meal for today. I give each of my parents the short bow, and head off towards the Spike. An hour in the morning and an hour at night, that's the rule.I walk off towards the small little cave entrance, prepared to begin to meet the impossible death I would meet. |
