Writing has its perks. Writing in the Big City? That's where great stories are made.
A strange twist of events. And a man in a clown suit.

The remainder of the day went by relatively slowly. Getting the first question in one’s head out of the way first, no, I did not have sex with that woman. Some hidden part of me, eager to get some of getting anything at all, wanted to have sex with that woman. Especially since things seemed to have changed in her personal hygiene habits. But, alas, I kept my junk to myself, and did the same the rest of the day.

Jamie slept until later that night and I panned through the news, looking for anything useful in the follow ups made throughout the day. By midday, the only development there seemed to be was the continual speculation of what might actually have happened in the Mayor’s office, with one station coming the closest. KYW-3, actually just around the corner from my apartment, began reporting the “possibility of murder, happening somewhere inside the personal office of the mayor himself, connected possibly to what the mayor had planned to announce during his conference with the press and local law men.

Not convinced enough to get involved in the actual investigation myself, I panned through just watching the tube the rest of the day until Jamie eventually returned to herself and, making sure to get at least one splash of Petulli in, gathered her things and promptly left back for her apartment. No actual pleasantries exchanged this time, I was relieved to see her go.
