Lucy and Seth are so happy to start a family! But life isn't always fair...
“Lucy, baby? You okay?” Seth asked as he knocked on the bathroom door.

I couldn’t respond. The only thing I could do was continue to purge. The horrible sound of gagging coming from my body. Finally I was able to stop. I stood up slowly, flushed the toilet, and began to brush my teeth. When I was finished I stood in front of the mirror and smiled.

I was happy. I was with the love of my life. We were going to be married in three months and soon our child would be here. We were thrilled at the thought of starting a life together.

I opened the door and saw Seth staring at me with a worried glance. He brushed the hair out of me eyes. “Are you alright?”

I nodded with a smile.

He wrapped his arms around me and kissed my forehead. I could feel the warmth of his love for me enveloping every inch of my body.

“I love you,” I sighed.

“I love you more,” He replied.

“Seth! Seth something’s wrong!,” I screamed as I clutched my stomach. I caught a glimpse of the clock.

3: 14 am

I screamed again.

Seth didn’t say a word. He immediately jumped up and grabbed the phone.

The next thing I knew I was unconscious.

I woke up in the hospital. Seth was by my side clutching my hand.

“Seth? What’s wrong? Is the baby okay?”

I had just notice he had been crying.

As the lump in my throat got bigger, I listened to the news I never wanted to hear.

“I’m so sorry baby,” he choked out, “The baby is gone.”
