Two girls understand the meaning of real books. And its not just to read them
For many of you readers, a book is a book. A story, a work of fiction. Well, what if books weren't just pieces of paper bound in leather? What if inside the wondrous pages of your favourite story there really was a world that you knew was not real. Where you could go and live inside your favourite tale. Where you could find solace and protection. Or not. This is the tale of two English girls who not what could be inside the yellowed pages of there favourite books.

It was a rainy, grey morning in the quaint town of Lititzburg, England, home to Elisdia and Katharina Hinesmore. These two orphan girls of 18 and 14 lived in a small cottage right on the outskirts of the little village.
" Katharina ", Elisdia whispered into Katharina's ear, as she tried to wake her up. " Katharina " she whispered a little more loudly this time. " You're going to be late for school " Elsidia said. Katharina stirred a bit in her sleep. "Alright, the games up, i know you can hear me!", Elsidia turned sneakily and grabbed a pillow from her bed. If she wasn't going to get up, Elsidia was going to make her. She turned back around ready to pounce, but instead, was met with a pillow being smashed into her face! "Okay, okay, you win. Now stop hitting me before i smother you with my pillow!." Katharina stopped and started giggling.
"You should have seen the look on your face, it was priceless!" By now she almost fell off the bed she was laughing so hard. Elsidia started to giggle, "I guess it was a little funny". They both started laughing.
"But Kat, I'm serious, you'll be late for school if you don't get up now."
"Oh, I'll be fine, the bus doesn't even get here for 20 minutes."
"Exactly! Now get your bum off your bed and get dressed before you miss the bloody thing and have to walk to school."
"Walk? In this weather!." Katharina exclaimed. "It's practically a monsoon! It's a wonder they haven't canceled school."
"Oh, come on, it's not that bad"
"Yes it is! Come on, can't i skip school today?"
"Excuse me, miss, no you may not.
"But-"
"End of discussion. Now, come on, get dressed, and I'll fix your breakfast"

Katherina trudged onto the bus, her too-big-boots clunking all the way to the middle row where she sat. Her boots were hand-me-downs from Elsidia, they didn't have much money to spare. She hated going to school, everyone always made fun of her shabby cloths and old school supplies. Except for Leah. Leah was the only "friend", if you could call her that, that Katherina had. She sat by her on the bus, in the three classes they had together and at lunch. They had only known each other for a year, but she was the only person Katharina didn't want to strangle every time they talked to her.
