Basics Name: Dorian Character's Full Name: Dorian Blackwood Reason or meaning of name: There's no real meaning of the name, simply meaning "of Doros" or "of Dorios" which was an area and key figure in Greek myth. I simply liked the name. =3 Nickname(s): Jett Kurói, Yogiri Nightmist, Daisuke Reason for nickname(s): Necessity for obscurity and hiding. They're aliases, truly, not nicknames. Birth date: (Have not even looked at Arvandor timeline yet, will need time.) Gender: Male Age: 1-17 (in Family & Foe) 25 (in Trust & Deception) 28 (in Power & Bliss) Undetermined age (in his meeting with Alek) Eye color: Green Hair color/style/type: Black, kept short and neat, though with no attention paid to styling or anything else he considers frivolous. Height: 5’7” Weight: 177 lbs Build: Thin, sleek muscles with very little tone or definition. He is built more for speed and stealth than any show of brute force. Nationality: Aldeonin Elf Skin tone: Pale Skin type: Scarred to a great degree, though he keeps such concealed beneath bandages and clothing. Face shape: Typical Elvish bone structure, sleek angular jaw and chin, with thin cheekbones. Distinguishing marks: His scars do not really identify him, but they are something that sets him apart from those of his kin. The tattoos on chest and arms mark his familial heritage. Most predominant feature: Preferred clothing or accessories: A Leather and chain mix of armor is covered with Higashi style clothing of a dark color varying from a deep purple, to deep blue, black, and dark gray. His weapons are also a mix, with Higashi swords on either hip, and small daggers hidden within folds of his clothing. Jewelry or accessories that are special or meaningful: Around his neck is a bloodstone signet ring hung upon a silver chain and tucked under his clothing to be concealed. On his left hand is a silver band with studded wings at the center. On his right hand, is a band of knot-work(Celtic) made from silver, gold, and copper. Where does character live: Wherever he can. He has had many homes in Arvandor, chosen for their seclusion and aide to hiding, and abandoned when such benefits were no longer available. What does s/he do too much of: Drinking, Sex, Drugs. He has a very addictive tendency in life, and a proclivity towards vices. What does s/he do too little of: Relaxing. He does not know how. Most prized possession: The bloodstone signet hanging around his neck. Why: It is a ring that represents the one woman he managed to get into a loving relationship with. Talented in/with: Magic, swordsmanship, theft, and other talents of a person who lives in shadows. Any pets: None Background From: A small village within the region of Kadmos. Type of childhood: He was blamed for the death of his mother, who died in childbirth, and tortured by father and brothers till his repressed anger emerged in the form of a split personality. Education: He is entirely self-taught. His sister taught him how to read, and from there, he read anything relating to the common traits of his family. Religion/Beliefs: Religion plays no importance in his life. He has experienced events in his life that proves the existence of certain deities, but despite knowing they exist, he does not follow them. Relevant first experiences (if any): There are many 'firsts' in his life that have major impacts on him. The first time he killed, the first time he stole, the first time he had sex, the first time he did drugs, the first time he drank, etc. Did they learn the things they know from a tutor or from experience: His sister was his only teacher, and she was only involved in a small portion of his life. Were these life lessons hard learned? How/Why?: Life was hard learned, as he would put it, and the learning never ends. Is there a childhood memory that lingers with him/her or has affected him/her: The first eight years of his life, and the torment his father and brothers subjected him to. Spouses or partners?: No spouses, plenty of partners through the years. Does character have child(ren): Yes (son, named Tama Blackwood) How many: 1 Are all children with the same partner: How does character relate to his/her child(ren): A mix of love and maintained distance. Which child is the character's favorite: Why: Is relationship with the children good: To soon to tell. Is relationship with children important to character: To soon to tell. Is character divorced: No Why: Never married. How many times: Has character ever been unfaithful to spouse: N/A How does character relate to others: With great indifference and mistrust. How is s/he perceived by others: Generally, he is seen as a horrible person, a lech and whore. Strangers? Friends?: He states that he has no friends, as he mistrusts everyone, but people willing to put up with his paranoia tend to actually become a friend. He has a few true friends, though he dislikes the term friend like he dislikes the term family, since the unstated understanding of those terms presupposes things that were never true in his life. Wife/Husband/Lover?: Sex is all that matters, at least to Dorian when it comes to those that are close to him in this manner. Sometimes, this is beneficial, when he finds those that are only interested in such as well. But then those that want more, wind up calling him a lech and a whore, as stated above. What happens to change this perception: Pity for his condition, ideas that he could grow out of his predicament. How do people react to these shortcomings: They try to help him, but his lack of trust does not provide many openings for such. Does he/she apologize after losing their temper: No What flaw would most likely drive a love interest or a friend away: The fact that he's only in it for the sex because he does not believe in love or friendship. How does she/he positively react to change?: By looking upon change with a devil-may-care attitude. How does she/he negatively react to change?: By not caring. What is their breaking point?: He does not truly have a breaking point, for what might bring one part of him to fear and silence would anger the other half of him. Then... oh, there's that bonfire. How will your character grow throughout the story?: The birth of his son presents a large example of inward contemplation that he must work through. Alek and Dorian will have a huge confrontation in many ways beyond a simple fight, and their interaction will also present the possibility of change, but mostly, just the thought patterns that emerge from it.
