The poem is a dirge of an abandoned mother

                                                        HEART DEAD

The pain in my heart

It pierced deep down my chest.

The agony descended like an avalanche upon my breast.

No it was not a cardiac arrest.

Nor a stab for theft.

Death would have been swift.

Am drowning in a deep sea of sorrow,

In the quicksands of loneliness.

My eyes bleed tears,

My heart fears-

will this go on for ever!

will the darkness of the night put out my might?

The name that stirred the living spark within me

The soft hands that wiped off my sweat

The warm hug that revived my numbness

The little lap that lulled my delirium

The primrose face that enlivened my desert

Where is it?

Vanished?

Has your love for me ceased?

How could that be?

Nethier can an ocean dry up,

Nor the bond that binds us breakup.

My darling baby,

Now that you have disowned me

All that is left in me is only pain,

My pleas are in vain,

In my coffin I am lain,

With my own hands I am slain.

Love you baby for teaching me to

step down

and watch you grow up.
