The crack of a machine gun can ruin even the sweetest dreams. As the first shots began to shatter my walls, all I could do was

shake off the thought of my beloved's lips and grab my pistol. Death would be the payment for taking her away from me yet

again. My name is Erasmus Simon, and I currently command a five comrade forward deployment unit, based on the east coast

of what was once a great land. For almost three centuries the US provided a beacon of freedom to people the world over, at

least that's what they told themselves. This false historical narrative was one of the biggest reasons for the war I currently find

myself in.
