As the young boy walked down the street next to his father, someone called down after him saying, "Going to your coronation already, princeling?" He wanted to whirl around, and fall on the jerk who said that like a hurricaine. But the boy knew better. "Such actions would reflect poorly on (his) father", not to mention that he'd only get even more crap for it! He couldn't do anything anyway, because he didn't want to disapoint his father, who gave his arm a consolatory squeeze and kept on walking. The boy really hated it, the crap that his whole family got for his father being in a favored position, that is. (His father was at that time a very close friend, and advisor to the King. Ususally that wouldn't mean anything, except that the King really disfavored the prince, so it was said that because of his close relationship with the family that the King might choose to name this boy the next heir.) But alas, at this point he was essentially powerless to stop those idiots from making fun of him. So he did what his position allowed and kept on walking towards their desination with a hint of irritation in his eye.

As he approached them, he marvled at how ridulously large and glamourous the palace doors were. Why anyone would need doors large enough to let the whole city through in a manner of minutes, on their home no less, behooved him, but then again, the king had always seemed a little ridiculous to him.
