Thistles along the way
A prickly way of scratches
Thristles of colors too pretty for gloom


Steely and rigid beneath the colors
Grey and dreary along the trail
A parting walk sideways
A journey into each new hour


A path into still minutes escapes into time past
Straight to sideways voyaging bent
A journey without choice
Shun the howls escape the raven prey


Choices undiluted into two
Forward to turning back
Squelch the vine or scream
Climb ahead or crawl away
