SIX FEET UNDER A Contest Exploring the Aftermath of Death PROMPT: Imagine the person you love the most. Now imagine that they are suddenly gone. This is a contest to explore the grim world of the survivors of death: What is left when a loved one dies? How do you pick up the pieces and move on? DO you pick up the pieces and move on? How do you cope with life after death? These are some of the questions for you to consider as you write. THE RULES Your story must include: 1) a death, and 2) a "survivor" who is experiencing the aftermath of that death. Your story may be written in poetry or prose, as long as it follows the prompt. Stories may not be longer than 3,000 words. Post entries in the forum as an item link. Linked entries may be rated higher than 13+, but all intros and forum content must be 13+ or lower. The deadline for submitting entries is September 10, at 11:59 pm ET. Every entry will receive a detailed review from the judge (me). Once posted, entries may be edited up until they receive a review. Multiple entries from the same author are allowed - but only one entry per author may win! Entries may be old items or new - but I encourage you to challenge yourself and write something new. THE PRIZES First Place: An Awardicon OR 10,000 GPs Second Place: 5,000 GPs Third Place: 1,000 GPs The winners will be announced after all entries have been given a review. Honorable Mentions may be awarded if there are lots of good entries! Get writing! I look forward to reading all your entries. |
